FIRST ART EXHIBIT FOR ASBURY

An Asbury Church member, Dale Montgomery, displays examples of his abstract expressionism art in the Fellowship Hall now and into the new year. Dale and his wife Karen have been members of Asbury since 1977. They have served on a number of committees and sing in the Chancel Choir. Take time to stop by and admire Dale's work now hanging in the Fellowship Hall.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The United Methodist Women (UMW) is both an organization and a community. It's organizational purpose is to support Christian mission through prayer, fundraising and mission education. As a community, United Methodist Women come together for mutual encouragement, spiritual nurture and fellowship.

MISSION-THE CAUSE
Asbury's UMW has a strong sense of mission, raising over $2,000 last year through various activities. The funds went to local, national and international ministries. In addition, the women support youth with camp scholarships, the church library, and nursery. Outreach is also extended to the hospitalized and home-bound.

MEETINGS
On the first Wednesday of the month, members and friends of the UMW meet for a business meeting, program and refreshments. No reservations are necessary. Childcare can be provided as needed.

CIRCLES
The United Methodist Women at Asbury are organized in four Circles which meet monthly, besides the unit meeting.
Eve Circle meets at 11:00 a.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the church.
Rebecca Circle meets monthly September through May. Each hostess determines the meeting date and place.
Rose Circle meets the Third Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the church lounge.

ANNUAL BAZAAR
The United Methodist Women sponsor an All Church Bazaar each year during October. Members and friends are asked to donate crafts, bakery, needlework, plants, books jewelry and glassware. The proceeds are used for charitable outreach by the UMW.

SENIORS - R.A.M.P.

All seniors, 60yrs and older are welcome to be part of the R.A.M.P. (Retired Asbury Methodist People). Gatherings and events are scheduled the second Tuesday of the month. RAMP has an exciting program of events that include; dinner, lunch, day trips, entertainment, and informational and growth opportunities. PARISH NURSE

Parish member, Nancy Dano, instructor at Viterbo College, is available to see church members for medical consultation by appointment between services on Sunday mornings. Nancy conducts free blood pressure screenings on a regular basis for members following Sunday worship service.

RAMP

Our Tuesday, April 8 lunch will feature a very special guest speaker, Pastor’s Scott’s friend Mark Bertrang.  Mark used to be a radio personality and now is a professional financial planner.  Location yet to be determined.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

Our guys will host a breakfast at the church on Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 AM.  The Onalaska men’s group will be our guests and we will have a second chance to prove ourselves masters of the Dartball board.   Come on out for the fellowship!

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

Vision Statement-Our vision is growing in personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, serving the needs of one another within our church family and serving our community through mission and ministry.

Asbury is committed to serving the nutrition needs of those in the community.

Members volunteer to deliver Mobile Meals once a month throughout the year.

Baskets are located in the office hallway to collect food for pantries located at the Salvation Army, New Horizons Women's Shelter, WAFER, The Hunger Task Force and Place of Grace.

Asbury participates in an ecumenical program called Monday Meals. Every nine weeks, members of the church prepare and serve a free evening meal for the 80-90 persons who meet at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on the north side of La Crosse.

Several times a year special offerings are taken to provide funds to the local food pantry agencies.
